:  any of several crests or tubercles on the sacrum: as a :  one on the midline of the dorsal surface—called also median sacral crest b :  any of a series of tubercles on each side of the dorsal surface lateral to the sacral foramina that represent the transverse processes of the sacral vertebrae and serve as attachments for ligaments—called also lateral crest, lateral sacral crest
